2011 Dam Ride
2011 marks our 6th year of rallying good friends together to help raise money for local organizations that helps our local community. We came up with the idea in 2006 about 36 bikes came out to help raise some money for the Moses Lake Food Bank. After that it we were hooked. It’s rewarding to see everyone come out and help our community. We really look forward to the growth of our event and our contributions. We have learned along the way, and each year we have improved our program.
We have learned that there are many ways to donate. Local businesses are now sponsoring our event with a $200.00 donation which put their names on the back of our rally shirts. They and others also donate to our raffle with gifts and coupons. The shirts which are made by “Shirt Builders” (Every year) go over really big. All the profits go straight to the organization we are supporting. Last year we had people making cash donations the morning of the ride. Even as tough as it has been to give up a few dollars right now.

We keep it in our local community. It’s really our only rule. Anyone can ride. Anyone can help. The last few years some good friends actually donated their time with a chase truck and trailer just in case we had someone with bike problems during the ride. There have been friends that help with lunch. Even some of our charities have assisted in a lot of the administrative elements.
When it’s all said and done we are rewarded with knowing that we helped keep those that help others moving along.
